Washington, DC (2/4/2022)

AthleteTalk, LLC will partner with the State University of New York at New Paltz, Department of Athletics to provide AthleteTalk – a mental health and wellness app – to all Hawks student-athletes.

In addition to providing a one-year subscription to Hawks student-athletes, AthleteTalk will hold monthly mental health in-person and virtual mental health “talks”, host a training for New Paltz athletics mental health staff on athlete mental health engagement, and collaborate with Hawks athletics to integrate AthleteTalk into existing student-athlete mental health and development efforts.

“We are excited to partner with Athlete Talk to support the mental health of our student-athletes. Mental health is critical to student-athlete success and well-being, and this partnership provides our students several resources to assist with their mental well-being. We appreciate the support of the College in helping to make this opportunity a reality.” – Renee Bostic, New Paltz Athletic Director

AthleteTalk is mental health and wellness app that utilizes a social media wellness feed, multi-day wellness plans, wellness videos, and more to engage athletes in mental health “workouts”. AthleteTalk combines these key features to normalize mental health, break the stigma around mental health and compel athletes to regularly work on their mental health and wellness.

“To partner with New Paltz Athletics on student-athlete mental health is an incredible opportunity. This partnership is consistent with the Hawks goal to provide an athletic and wellness and program that provides transformational, educational, and athletic opportunities for students to grow and develop. I know that Renee has the best interests of her athletes at heart when it comes to life and sports. We aim to maximize the opportunity to enhance mental health within New Paltz athletics by providing Hawks athletics with unparalleled student-athlete mental health engagement strategies.
